  • Can I have more sessions with my therapist?
    Absolutely! If you would like to continue your sessions with one of our licensed counselors, feel free to communicate that to them at the end of your free therapy session and they will walk you through the next steps. If you forget to do so during the session (it happens), send us an email at info@tryingtherapy.com and we will be sure to get back to you on the next steps.
  • Is the therapy session really free?
    Yes! You read that correctly. At Trying Therapy, we understand the different hurdles that limit easy access to mental health services. Hence, we decided to do something about that! We offer our clients ONE FREE therapy session with any of our esteemed licensed therapists. Clients are free to leave after the one free session or can choose to continue their sessions with our counselors subject to their rates. We are honored to help as you take your first step...to a better mental health.
  • What do I need for my online session?
    For your session with your therapist, you will need good internet service and a video capable device. This can be a mobile phone, desktop, tablet, or laptop. The session will be hosted via Zoom however, accommodations can be made to include other conferencing apps that better suit the client.
  • What do I need to know before starting therapy?
    Therapy is different for everyone. Each person has their individual needs, challenges, and expectations. In other to get the most out of your free session, please be sure to answer the questions on your booking form as extensively as possible. The more information our therapists have about you, your needs, your challenges, and your expectations before the session, the better equipped they will be to meet them.
  • What if I miss my appointment?
    We understand that life happens and sometimes, we are unable to make commitments. We strongly encourage you to reach out to us ahead of your appointment to inform us on any changes to your schedule. If you are unable to communicate with us about any changes that might affect your appointment before they occur, you might be forfeiting your free session all together. We value your experience and respect the time of our counselors so communication is essential. Let us know any challenge you're facing with your booking and we will work to accommodate it as best as we can.
  • What if I need to reschedule or cancel my booking?
    We understand that plans change and with new experiences, sometimes we get cold feet (which is perfectly okay). If you would like to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us at info@tryingtherapy.com 48 hours in advance. This ensures we can make that time slot available for another user and promptly find a better time that works for you.
  • What is Trying Therapy?
    Trying Therapy is a platform that grants users easy access to mental health services, connects them with professional counselors/therapists, and addresses the issues surrounding the wide-spread acceptance of mental health services. Users can easily book 1 free session with a therapist on the site and begin their journey to a better mental health.
  • Are the therapy sessions online or in person?
    All our free therapy sessions are carried out virtually. We use a variety of video conferencing platforms to ensure an easy, disruption-free session.
